In 1997, 16 women-of-color-led organizations representing four communities of color (Native Americans, Latin American, African American, and Asian American) then launched the nonprofit, SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective, to build a national reproductive justice movement (Wikipedia). SisterSong defines Reproductive Justice as the human right to maintain personal bodily autonomy, have children, not have children, and parent the children we have in safe and sustainable communities. With abortion bans, attacks on organizations like Planned Parenthood, and limiting healthcare for LGBTQ+, our reproductive rights are being threatened now more than ever. The Bandit Zine issued this call for submission way back before Trump was ever elected, but these stories remain the same. Woman and non-binary folks are in danger of losing the fight if we don't continue to rally against this administration. Now is the time to stand up for access to the care we need and the right to choose."--Page 3. | ||
